Abstract

The widespread use of single-phase induction motor has motivated a lot of researchers to investigate alternatives to implement a Single-Phase Induction Motor Drive (SPIMD) system with low and high performance capability. This paper presents a high performance SPIMD system by using a sensorless approach. This novelty helps reduce the total cost of the system throughout the elimination of the sensor and its instrumentations. In this paper the modelling that allows implement a sensorless SPIMD is presented. Simulation and experimental results show the feasibility of the approach.
