Abstract

In order to determine the level parameters of the first excited state of ⁸Be different three-body reactions, with ⁸Be as an intermediate system were investigated in complete experiments. A systematic change of the resonance width with the relative velocity of the spectator, which was assumed by Berkowitz, could not be proved. The resonance width and energy were found to be Γ = 1.75±0.30 MeV and E_res = 2.83±0.20 MeV, respectively.
