Abstract

A method and framework for the integration of component fault trees with MathWorks System Composer and Simulink is presented. The framework is built around three main ideas: Strict separation of design models and safety assessment models, traceability through a bi-directional linking mechanism and automatic synchronization between both models. This allows to develop the different models separately from each other, with the right level of detail for each problem, while traceability is always maintained and consistency is guaranteed by the synchronisation.
