Abstract
In contrast to the conventional cutting process, in precision stamping the workpieces and scrap remain initially in the tool area and have to be blown out or removed mechanically. To prevent potential damage caused by these materials to the press or tooling, the incorporation of a mechanical scanning table system and a hydraulic ram sensor has proved to be the best solution. The output of a press is determined essentially by the feed system. Features of the increasingly utilized roll feed with an electrohydraulic stepping motor are the high accuracy of feed and the flexibility when the feed length has to be altered.
