Abstract
Basis for the application of quantitative acoustic emission techniques is the 3D-localization of the events with the highest precision. A procedure have to be found to analyze a large number of events and to extract the onset times of the signals automatically - the different travel times between source and sensors can be used to calculate the source locations. An algorithm is presented which meets the requirements.
