Abstract

Some of the distinct attributes of Aerospace and Automobile Software Technologies are briefly reviewed in this article as a way of placing in collective-context the detailed technical papers that form this exciting special issue. A historical context, a unifying architectural perspective and, the rapidly changing and defining role of software is presented, especially as we look ahead to this new decade in this still young century.
