Abstract
Clinching with circular tools is considered to be one of the most economic joining processes for sheet metals. To reduce cycle times and thereby make clinching suitable for the joining of continuous profiles, the use of rotating tools is attractive. In this article the simulation assisted development of a circular point clinching method with rotating tools is described.
