Abstract

We searched for the ν_j → ν_i + e⁺ + e^- decay mode of heavy neutrinos in an experiment performed nearby a nuclear power reactor in Bugey (France) using a detector consisting of multiwire proportional chambers. New limits on the neutrino mixing parameter ∥U_e3∥² in the mass range 1 MeV < m_{ν_h} < 8 MeV are presented.
