Abstract

In this paper we study a cellular wireless system with joint beamforming and power allocation. All users are assumed to be coupled by co-channel interference. We address the problem of optimizing the sum of individually weighted QoS functions, where the weights can be used to trade-off the overall system efficiency against max-min fairness. A computationally efficient algorithm is proposed, which is shown to be monotonically convergent for any choice of weighting factors. Finally, it is shown how the weights must be chosen in order for the algorithm to converge towards optimal max-min fairness. 2005 IEEE.
