Abstract

The climate crisis, technological and societal change, population growth and associated changes in demand, as well as the dramatic loss of biodiversity and the overexploitation of natural resources lead to the agricultural and food sector being under strong pressure to change. In abstract terms, this raises the question of the resilience of regional and global value chains in the agricultural and food sector. Based on these current developments, the 62ndannual conference of the Society for Economic and Social Sciences of Agriculture (GEWISOLA) was held on the topic of "Resilience of regional and global value chains in the agri-food sector". The conference was jointly organised by the University of Hohenheim and the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences (HfWU). This report provides an overview of the contents of the workshops and lectures. The corresponding conference proceedings with the complete contributions can be downloaded from the Gewisola website.
