Abstract
Background: The effective resection of neoplastic colonic lesions can significantly reduce the incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer (CRC). Question: Which resection procedure is best suited for which neoplastic colonic lesion? Material and methods: Description and evaluation of the various resection techniques, discussion of current guidelines, reviews and original articles. Conclusion: The effective resection of neoplastic colonic lesions can nowadays be carried out endoscopically in the majority of cases. In the case of advanced deep infiltration, surgical oncological resection procedures have to be performed.
