Abstract
The total active reflection coefficient (TARC) is an important parameter toward the characterization of antenna arrays. Dependent on the problem at hand, it can be defined in different ways and it is important to find general estimates and bounds for it. In this reply, we clarify certain aspects related to the definition and to the excitation-independent determination of the TARC.
