Abstract

Indications, operative technique, drug treatment, postoperative complications, physiotherapy and results are mentioned of 132 patients treated by this method. Good healing was achieved in 117 cases (88.7%). Total necrosis occurred in reimplanted fingers of 12 patients of which 10 had severe crush injuries with extensive damage and mostly subtotal amputation. Most common postoperative complications were venous (19 cases) and arterial (3 cases) thrombosis. Microvein interposition is recommended for crush and tear injuries. (10 references).
