Abstract
We discuss the renormalization scheme dependence of large-order estimates for perturbative series of physical quantities and obtain the renormalization scheme-invariant asymptotics of its effective β-function. As an application we consider infrared renormalons in QCD. For the first infrared renormalon of the electromagnetic current-current correlation function we find the 1 n-corrections to the leading large-n asymptotics.
