Abstract

In the present paper, the question of reconstruction of dielectric and magnetic permeabililty on the grounds of measurements will be examined. It is to be demonstrated that, with regard to regular convergence, an universal linear method of reconstruction cannot exist. Generally speaking, it needs to be pointed out that, despite the inclusion of additional measurements, an optimized approximation in view of the regular norm cannot be achieved by this means. As far as any linear method of reconstruction is concerned, the data of permeabililty for which this method diverges without restriction will be indicated. The result achieved makes it feasible to explain the difficulties emphasized in specialist literature. Moreover, the connection with the Kramers-Kronig-Relation between the real and imaginary part of dielectric and magnetic permeability will be demonstrated.
