Abstract
The authors present 808 replantations by microsurgery in patients aged between 16 months and 70 years. The functional results were controlled in 369 cases after 10 to 20 months. Less satisfactory function was found in patients over 50 years and following combined injuries of the hand. The replantation of the thumb achieved the best results. The authors point out that, despite a poor prognosis, some replantations should still be attempted because every case needs to be evaluated individually.
