Abstract

Easily biodegradable lubricants are being increasingly used in environmentally critical applications such as in vehicles and instruments used in water protection areas, hydraulics engineering, in agriculture and forestry and in openly running systems with loss lubrication also in power transmitting gears. The native oil, synthetic esters and polyglycols are used. The behaviour of these lubricants in the elements of toothed gearing systems is largely unknown and is being investigated within the framework of a broadly designed research project.
