Abstract

In the field of regional planning, interdisciplinary strategies are getting more and more important for solving the problems. Analysing the value of an area (Nutzwertanalyse) is one way to improve interdisciplinary research in regional planning. A system analysis of Baden-Württemberg illustrates the method to be used and shows that such an analysis can provide criteria for regional policy decisions. This also applies to the analysis of development potentials and environmental capacities of other regional agglomerations.
