Abstract
Owing to changed general conditions (globalization, european and national location competition) as well as to a considerable lack of financial funds more and more communities are forced to get into supra-local partnerships with neighbouring communities. However, this process is difficult and for this preparation as well as suitable methods and instruments are required. The article describes that the physical and regional planning authorities systematically prepare themselves for this new task. It is asked, if land consolidation authorities should not participate in this future task more strongly because of their excellent legal, methodical, instrumental and first of all realization-oriented prerequisites.
