Abstract
From the results of the measurement of input impedance of a transmission-line system, location, nature and magnitude of individual reflections can be obtained by means of Fourier transformation, either by a digital computer or by a measuring set-up applying the FM-radar-principle. In contrast to the widely used time-domain reflectometer, these techniques are not restricted to devices with low-path characteristic.
