Abstract
There is no satisfactory interaction between calculation and design (CAD) in the area of computer aided gear development because of missing interfaces and an insufficient user guidance. The CAD systems and the calculation programs are mostly independent. The " Gear development Program System" (GEPS) which was developed in the course of the DFG research program " Innovative computer aided engineering: integration of design and calculation" is intended to solve these problems.
