Abstract

Electrically pumped VCSELs in the near infrared were used to probe rovibrational transitions of ammonia, methane, water and hydrogen chloride. Rapid (up to 5 MHz) and high resolution spectra were recorded. The benefits of VCSELs for molecular spectroscopy are outlined.
