Abstract
Quantum reflection in a system of two attractive step potentials with a steplike coupling term was investigated. Reflectivity in the elastic channel was quenched in the presence of second adiabatic channel open for transmission and was enhanced when the second transmission channel was closed. A pronounce minimum for the reflectivity was found to occur for conditions under which the potential in the upper adiabatic channel vanishes or becomes very small.
