Abstract

A study was conducted on the quantum reflection by Casimir-van der Waals potentials in detail and investigates how the behavior of the reflectivity as a function of energy depends on the strength parameters and the shape of the potential. It focuses on purely attractive potential tails, where reflection was forbidden classically and was a quantum-mechanical effect at all energies.
