Quantum dot single photon sources with ultra-low multiphoton error rate

Abstract

We demonstrate single-photon generation from self-assembled quantum dots with ultralow multi-photon probability. While resonant excitation of a two-level system suffers from reexcitation, two-photon excitation of the biexciton state improves multi-photon errors by orders of magnitude.
