Abstract

Radionuclide ventriculography was performed in 103 patients within 24 hours of standard contrast ventriculography to compare the left ventricular ejection fractions as determined by various scintigraphic calculation methods with that obtained from the contrast ventriculogram. Based on the method demonstrating the closest agreement, a new process for determination of regional ejection fraction was developed. 66 of the patients had coronary artery disease, eleven had valvular heart disease, ten patients had congestive cardiomyopathy and 16 had no evidence of heart disease.
