Abstract

We report the use of a home-made multi-channel time-correlated photon counting instrument, to monitor and quantify absorption changes in the contra-lateral primary motor cortex area occurring due to motor stimulation with voluntary finger tapping. The stimulation protocol is designed using an intensity modulated NIR instrument and optimized to quantify the maximum blood volume changes during activation.
