Abstract

The paper presents a method for the enhancement of quality and flexibility of the elastic adhesive bonding of large components with high tolerances. The main improvement is based on an innovative methodology for the alignment of two parts, e. g. a windshield to a truck body. This is realized by a deformation of one piece immediately before the joining process, based primarily on geometric information and on emerging stresses due to the deformation.
