Abstract
Applications of ultrasound technique in quality control of concrete are discussed. Based on ultrasound, soft- and hardware called FreshCon or FreshMor were developed at the University of Stuttgart. The device developed at the University of Stuttgart is able to analyze the setting and hardening of cementitious materials in a comprehensive way. The method is based on ultrasound and can be used for numerous applications, what addresses material parameters like the water-to-cement-ratio, the type of cement or the effect of additives as retarders or accelerators.
