Abstract
The added value of final assembly lines Is notably reduced by subsequent test procedures in order to detect assembly errors. Especially O-rings are fragile to damaging. However, knowledge of the physical and mechanical processes during the assembly is barely existent. The influence of joining speed and lubrication to the assembly process of components with radial O-ring sealing is analyzed and specified in this paper. Future prospects to other influencing factors as well as possible applications of the achieved data are given.
