Abstract
Remote laser welding using scanning optics is gaining importance in industrial use, due to its flexibility. For this reason, a system technology for automated spatter detection is being developed at iwb. The collected data of spatter characteristics is used to automatically generate a welding quality report. This article will present the overall concept composed of a scanning optics, a process camera, and a processing unit for an automated monitoring of the remote laser welding process.
