Abstract
A general testing concept for nonwoven preselected geotextiles is reported. Investigations regarding homogeneity (area weight and thickness) were performed. The strength properties and load-extension behavior in a plunger-puncture test were determined. In addition strip tensile tests were also performed. On the basis of statistical analysis, the range of scatter of the material and the correlation between various characteristic values are presented. The results showed how plunger-puncture test and strip tensile test can be used for classification of textiles and for qualification and control tests.
