Abstract

During the last decade a rapid progress of phased-array radar systems for military as well as for civil applications can be observed. New extensive programs also in Europe are technology drivers in this field. The aim of this paper is to give a short overview on challenging radar tasks to be performed with phased array radar, main applications for ground-, ship-, air- and space-based systems, key technologies, and approaches for future applications.
