Abstract

Nowadays manufacturing companies are facing the challenges of increasing product individualization and product complexity in the product development process, but at the same time shorter product life cycles and growing cost pressure. Within the research project GiBWert, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and managed by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA), a guideline to introduce a modular product platform is developed.
