Abstract

One way of increasing productivity in industrial enterprises is the adaptation of the Kanban system originating in Japan. The most important elements of this system are the creation of multi-loop automatic control systems, the implementation of the Hol-principle for the respective subsequent user stage, flexible use of personnel and special tools, and transfer of the short-term control to the operator with the aid of the data-containing Kanban card. The purpose of the Kanban system is to achieve just-in-time production in order to reduce the inventory and to accurately maintain schedules.
