Abstract
Two methods for the prediction of the cavitation behaviour of Kaplan turbines have been investigated, the finite difference and the singularity method. In this case the singularity method proved to be a much more rapid and slightly more accurate procedure for the prediction of the cavitation pattern in hydraulic machines. The cavitation patterns observed and computed on the basis of a simplified flow model show a good agreement. (A)
