Abstract
We plan to measure the rate of the electroweak charged-current reaction μ-+p→n+νμ with 1% precision using a new experimental technique based on a high pressure time projection chamber filled with ultrapure hydrogen gas (1). The capture rate is sensitive to the weak form factors of the nucleon, in particular to the induced pseudoscalar coupling constant gp which will be measured with ∼ 6% accuracy. * work supported by Paul Scherrer Institute, Russian Ministry of Sciences and Technology, US Department of Energy and INTAS.
