Abstract

The precise half-life measurement for the superallowed 0+→0+ emitter 74Rb was done. The measured data were collected at the radioactive beam facility (ISAC) at TRIUMF using a beam of 4000 74Rb ions/sec. It was found that since the axial-vector decay strength was zero for superallowed Fermi 0+→0+ β decays, the intensities were directly related to the weak vector coupling constant.
