Abstract
An integrated planning system including a relational data base is described. The system, PLATO-SIM, allows prediction of the capacity and time behaviour of a plant to be planned and production structures to be described using modules. The system has been successfully used in modules. The system has been successfully used in simulation studies in the car industry. The time expended in model set-up and modification was considerably reduced. PLATO-SIM will be extended to form an all comprehensive planning concept. (from authors' abstract)
