Picosecond thermometry and manometry of hydrogen-bonded systems

Abstract

A method for ultrafast temperature and pressure measurements in H-bonded sys- tems is presented. Using mid-infrared subpicosecond pulses for excitation and probing, we stud- ied temperature jumps in ice where a thermalization within 25 ps was observed.
