Abstract
The teakwood from plantation in Panamá meets the values of strength and dimensional stability of teak from previous known origins, i.e. from primeval forests. No differences could be found regarding bulk density and mechanical properties. However, in contrast to the tendency typically found for ring-porous wood, the bulk density of the teakwood investigated in the present study increases with increasing annual ring width.
