Abstract

As a potential strategy for greenhouse gas recycling, photocatalytic reduction of CO2 receives worldwide attention; yet no breakthrough towards industrial-scale application has been achieved. In an attempt to accelerate the development of new materials and composites by knowledge-guided design, this review visualizes current strategies of designing and engineering Z-scheme photocatalysts and gives advice on how to systematically address persistent challenges.
