Abstract

The JIS audit unites the advantages of the classic auditing and supplier integration processes. The fact that all concerned benefit from improved processes due to reduced wastage and reactive power means that on the one hand the pressure to optimize is raised by way of the evaluation and on the other that motivation is generated. In short, what this means is a focus on comprehensive improvement of processes rather than just one-sided apportionment of blame. The JIS audit requires no long period of preparation nor any great outlay since it is based on a standard procedure with the assistance of a defined set of questions. Successful implementation is guaranteed by rigorous and transparent controlling of the associated activities. Practical application has shown that the JIS audit makes for significantly improved communication between all participants and a continuous process of improvement; it constitutes a key method for enabling partnership-based optimization of processes in the automotive industry.
