Abstract

Organogold compounds having at least one Au–C δ or π bond and gold‐carborane complexes have recently received rapidly increasing attention, from the point of view of valence theory and structure as well as on practical grounds. Interesting possibilities are offered particularly in connection with the use of gold and its derivatives as heterogeneous or homogeneous catalysts for organic reactions, and new problems also arise.
