Abstract

Transmitters and receivers for 280 Mbit/s, as well as experimental and theoretical investigations of an experimental transmission line built using them, are described. Transmission tests over a 3. 61 km long gradient profile fiber, as well as with directly connected transmitter and receiver, are reported.
