Abstract

This work explores the possibility of leveraging the OpenBIM standards to create an interactive Virtual Reality (VR) tool for collaboration in the BIM ecosystem, independent of any vendor-specific software. The highlight of the work is integration of BCF issue mark-ups and a mechanism to add doors and windows from VR with correct semantic relationships to an IFC model. We also lay foundation for a networked, multi-user environment using the same approach.
