Abstract

The City of Graz intends to install an integrated traffic management system (ITMS). One vital basis of this system will be a profound continuous determination of the current traffic state in the road network. As an important goal of the city is a step-bystep implementation of the ITMS, the implementation begins therefore with an advanced traffic state estimator, which should be able to use different available data sources and structured as an appropriate open system. This paper describes the used data types, their processing and finally the fusion of data to a level of service reflecting the current traffic state.
