Abstract
Ecological and faunistical studies were carried out at the River Murn, a tributary of the River Inn, in order to determine the necessary width and the methods of management of the land strips next to the water. The following taxa of arthropods were investigated: Carabidae, Araneae, Heteroptera and Auchenorrhyncha; collecting was done using pitfall traps and hand nets. To achieve a sufficiently diverse species community, a minimal width of the land strips of 5 m was recommended. As measures of management, a reaping regime is recommended once every two years in autumn, alternating in small parcels. -English summary
