Abstract

QoE has received much attention over the past years and has become a prominent issue for delivering services and applications. A significant amount of research has been devoted to understanding, measuring, and modeling QoE for a variety of media services. In this position paper we provide an overview of state-of-the-art findings and discuss emerging concepts and the challenges they raise with respect to managing QoE for networked media services. We address the implications of this evolution in our understanding of QoE in terms of new approaches in QoE modeling that are necessary for achieving a more comprehensive QoE management paradigm.
