Abstract

Nummular eczema is characterized by a chronic noninfectious inflammation of the epidermis and dermis and single or multiple coin-shaped, well-demarcated lesions. It undergoes the common eczema stages: initial stage with erythematous plaques and papules; alteration of the papules into itching and oozing vesicles; crust formation and eventually healing.
